Adult Book Fair

It is a blast from the past! Put on your best 80s/90s outfit and bring a friend (or 3) and all your allowance money because… it’s Book Fair time!

BEFORE YOU REGISTER:

You may register for up to four tickets, but you must have the names and email addresses for EACH guest. Each ticket must have its own unique recipient/email — all duplicate tickets will be cancelled.

REGISTRATION:

Begins at 11am on Tuesday, August 1, https://www.eventbrite.com/e/adult-book-fair-tickets-667544612907

Select your time slot — six time slots will be available in hour long increments starting at 3pm on Thursday, September 21. You will not be granted admittance before your selected time begins OR after it ends. You cannot change your selected time slot after you complete your registration. You may enter at any point during your hour. However, we ask that you finish your shopping within 10 minutes of the end of your time slot.

Tickets are free but you are limited to four. You must have the names and email addresses for each ticket you are registering for.

AFTER REGISTRATION:

Entry wristband pickup begins in store (221 E. Archer Street, Tulsa OK 74103) on Monday, August 28.

Early pickup is encouraged (but is not required). However, as an added incentive, anyone who picks up their wristbands early from Magic City Books will receive a small gift. Early pick-up ends Wednesday, September 20 at 9:00 pm.

To pick up more than one ticket, you will need to have the name and QR code (physically or digitally) for each ticket. Lost wristbands cannot be replaced.

Each registered guest will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to their ticket.

DAY OF THE BOOK FAIR:

The Adult Book Fair will be Thursday, September 21 at Neff Brewing.

Guests may begin lining up 15 minutes prior to your selected start time. Anyone who has not picked up their wristband will be checked in at that time, so please arrive with your tickets in hand (physically or digitally).

Again, you may enter at any point during your hour. However, we ask that you finish your shopping within 10 minutes of the end of your time slot. Please do not re-enter the book fair area once you leave.  Note: Time slots are to stagger book fair shopping only. You are welcome to eat and drink at NEFF at any time between 3:00-9:00 no reservation is needed. 

ABF Frequently asked questions

If I did not reserve a ticket in advance will I still be able to attend? Unfortunately, you may not attend the Book Fair at NEFF without a ticket. Our bookstore will be open until 9pm and we encourage you to visit us there. We will have a selection of bookfair goodies (glitter pens, stickers, erasers, etc) available for purchase in store while supplies last.

Where can I pick up my entry wristband? You can only pick up wristbands in person at Magic City Books starting Monday, August 28 at 10am through Wednesday, September 20, at 9pm. You are required to wear your wristband to be admitted into the Adult Book Fair. Lost wristbands cannot be replaced.

What if I can’t pick up my wristband until the day of (Thursday, September 21)? Early pickup before 9/21 is encouraged. However, if you cannot pick up your wristband in advance, you can check-in and pick it up at NEFF on 9/21.

What if I’ve lost my wristband? Wristbands CANNOT be replaced and you will NOT be admitted.

Can I give my wristband to another person? Yes, once you’ve picked up your wristband, it is yours and you can transfer it to whomever you wish.

Can I transfer my reservation to another person BEFORE picking up my wristband and/or can I change a name I reserved a ticket under to a different person/contact?Yes, you can transfer your Adult Book Fair ticket either on the Eventbrite website or through the Eventbrite app prior to picking up a wristband. Access your tickets through the app or the confirmation email and click on the ticket you want to edit update the name and email address. Make sure to the check the box ‘Send confirmation email to new attendee’ so they will receive their ticket

I did not receive my confirmation/QR code? Please email bdirks@magiccitybooks.com with your name and email address and ask to have your ticket resent.

Do I need to be there at the start of my entry time? You may enter the Adult Book Fair at any point during your hour. For early arrivers, we ask that you begin lining up no earlier than 15 minutes prior to your ticket start time.

Once I’m in the book fair will I have an unlimited amount of time to browse and shop? In an effort to maintain traffic flow, we request you wrap up your shopping within 10 minutes of the end of your reserved time slot. You may visit NEFF for food and beverage at any time during the event.

Where do I park? Street parking is free after 5pm. Before 5pm you will need to pay either at a ParkMobile kiosk or through the ParkMobile app. There are also paid parking lots in front of and behind NEFF. These are monitored pay-to-park lots 24/7, so you will need to scan the QR code on the sign or find a kiosk to pay, regardless of what time it is. In all cases you will need to enter your license plate information to pay to park.

The event is at a brewery, are we allowed to bring kids with us? Children are allowed as NEFF is family friendly. However, this event will be crowded and is intended to be for adults relieving their Scholastic Book Fair glory days. We request all strollers be left at home.

Are pets allowed? Due to the expected crowd, only service animals are allowed.

What will be available at the bookfair? There will be a wide section of fiction, non-fiction, horror, romance, banned books, local interest, self-care, kids, and teen titles. There will also be glitter pens, stickers, erasers. posters, bookmarks, candles, tote bags, and other goodies.
