Aminatta Forna

October 4, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Waterloo Bridge, London. Two strangers collide. Attila, a Ghanaian psychiatrist, and Jean, an American studying the habits of urban foxes. From this chance encounter in the midst of the rush of a great city, numerous moments of connections span out and interweave, bringing disparate lives together. In Happiness, a delicate yet powerful novel of loves lost and new, of past griefs and of the hidden side of a multicultural metropolis, Aminatta Forna asks us to consider the values of the society we live in, our co-existence with one another and all living creatures—and the true nature of happiness.

Aminatta Forna is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a member of the Folio Academy. Her books have been translated into 18 languages and she has acted as judge for the Samuel Johnson Prize, the Bailey Prize for Women’s Fiction, the Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award, the Caine Prize and the International Man Booker Prize.

This event is free and open to the public. Aminatta Forna’s latest book Happiness is currently available at Magic City Books and her book will be available for sale at the event.
