Magic City Books and Tulsa Glitterary are proud to welcome poet Kathy Fagan for a public reading followed by a book signing on Saturday June 17 at 7:00 pm in the Algonquin Room at Magic City Books.
Kathy Fagan’s most recent book, Bad Hobby, is a perceptive collection focused on memory, class, and might-have-beens. Fagan writes with a kind of practical empathy, lamenting pain and brutality while knowing, also, their inevitability. Bad Hobby is a hard-earned meditation–a dreamscape speckled with swans, ghosts, and weather updates.
Bad Hobby as well as previous collections by Kathy Fagan are for sale at Magic City Books. If you would like to have a copy signed and shipped to you, you can purchase online at: https://magiccitybooks.square.site/product/bad-hobby/1292.
Kathy Fagan is the author of Bad Hobby and Sycamore, a finalist for the Kingsley Tufts Award. Fagan’s work has appeared in venues such as the New York Times Sunday Magazine, Poetry, The Nation, the New Republic, Best American Poetry, and the Academy of American Poets Poem-A-Day. She has received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and an Ingram Merrill Foundation Fellowship, and served as the Frost Place poet in residence. Fagan is co-founder of the MFA program at The Ohio State University, where she teaches poetry, and co-edits the Wheeler Poetry Prize Book Series for The Journal and The Ohio State University Press.
