Kristin Dickerson – In Person
April 24, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Magic City Books and Circle Cinema are proud to welcome former KTUL anchor Kristin Dickerson for an in-person event to celebrate her new book, My Journey Back to God on Sunday April 24. This free event will begin with a reception in the Circle Cinema lobby starting at 1:00 pm and at 2:00 Kristin will be joined by Jody McIntyre, Good Day Tulsa producer and Circle Board Member for a moderated discussion and slide show with audience Q&A to follow.
Author and former KTUL anchor Kristin Dickerson left her 15-year-career as a TV-journalist to join her husband, Peter, on a pilgrimage to some of the holiest places in the world.
Their journey began in Spain with an ancient walk that’s known for transformation—the Camino de Santiago. As they neared the final 100 miles, the call to capture her odyssey was made very clear. So, Kristin started writing and her testimony poured out of her. My Journey Back to God is the journal she kept on their 98-day pilgrimage across Spain, then Israel and India—visiting the sacred sites and also experiencing the love of Jesus, Buddha and Shiva.
Along with detailing their travel adventures, local cuisine and the lessons learned from fellow pilgrims, Kristin also weaves in her personal journey back to God. She shares her transformation from depression, alcohol and drug use, insecurities in her marriage, and not being able to speak up for herself, to a place of peace, strength, and gratitude.
Some of the stories she shares about her past struggles are not flattering, but as the Bob Dylan lyrics that kept coming to her on the Camino declared, “you’ve got no secrets to conceal.”

Kristin Dickerson‘s 15 years in broadcasting include a National Edward R. Murrow award and four National Gracies. Her mission is to share stories that inspire, evoke emotion and grow empathy.
