Liz Blood

June 13, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Magic City Books is proud to welcome Liz Blood for an in-person program to celebrate The Creative Field Guide to Northeastern Oklahoma on Tuesday June 13 at 7:00 pm in the Algonquin Room at Magic City Books.

The Creative Field Guide to Northeastern Oklahoma is not-your-average field guide featuring original creative writing, visual art, writing prompts, and art activities to get you making art based on your own experiences in nature—as well as more than 90 species native and naturalized to Northeastern Oklahoma. An excellent companion when heading outdoors, whether to the backyard or some far-flung location.

Liz Blood is a writer and editor based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A lifelong Oklahoman, her work focuses on place, memory, and contemporary art. Her nonfiction can be found in Oklahoma Today, Cimarron Review, Columbia Journal, Sierra, and elsewhere. She is a multi-year recipient of the Tulsa Artist Fellowship and, in 2021 and 2022, was awarded the Fellowship’s Arts Integration Award. Blood serves as a contributing editor at Awst Press and Oklahoma Today magazine, and is an adjunct faculty member at Oklahoma City University’s Red Earth MFA in Creative Writing program. She holds an MFA in creative writing from Vermont College of Fine Art and a BA in English from Westminster College.
